Job Description General descriptionThe Human Resource Manager has the skill-set necessary to transform an organization’s commercial objectives into HR policies. The HR Manager will play an instrumental role in professionalizing the company and implementing HR “best practices”, setting the HR strategy agenda for the company, including a strategy for recruiting and retaining talent in conjunction with senior management of the company. This agenda will be closely tied to the commercial objectives and requirements of the company. The position is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Responsibilities & DutiesThe HR Manager is responsible for managing the recruitment process, as per company recruitment policy, including identifying new candidates, and co-ordinating succession planning. Where necessary the HR manager will liaise with the relevant department managers. The HR manager will also be required to manage the termination and retirement process. This include:
The HR Manager will serve as a “point of first contact” for all of the company’s shore- based employees (Head office in Amsterdam, the Netherland and liaison office in Mumbai, India) and will manage employee relations. The HR manager will handle any personnel issues that may arise with employees. It is the HR manager’s responsibility to maintain a “pulse” on the company.
Review and manage the appraisal process, including developing performance databases and researching compensation packages and benchmarks. Together with the individual department managers, the HR manager will assist in the career development, team building, training (and succession planning) of employees.
The HR manager will be responsible together with the department managers for ensuring that employees have the skills/ (legal) qualifications necessary for carrying out their jobs. The HR manager will help filter and select relevant training courses in conjunction with the various departments and administer the training program.
The HR Manager will also keep current with all relevant employee legislation. The HR function may also potentially extend to the Romanian liaison office.
Monitoring employees’ attendance in Amsterdam and Mumbai offices, alerting employees and HODs for any late arrival/absence from office include sick leave in accordance with company policy and as per local law, communicating with company doctor when required.
